Francis focuses the majority of his sermon speaking from the passage in Bible 2 Timothy 3:2-5, where Paul says it is going to be terrible at the end. People will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents... He commands us to avoid such people. And Paul is not talking about the world, but about believers! All this stuff is gonna creep into the church. That's why he commands to avoid such people. When you go through this list, we don't even consider those things as a sin anymore. We just don't call it a sin anymore. The worldly ideas want to sneak in our churches, heads. Bible doesn't say love yourself, grab all you can, follow your heart, it says to deny yourself, grab a cross and follow Jesus! When we disciple, what are we trying to produce? Yes, we want to produce deep lovers of Jesus. Are you still deeply in love with Him, so your disciples will be the same as you are.
